*Log Ons: Refers to the number of persons who can simultaneously dial in and obtain access under the same account name during normal business hours. For these purposes normal business hours are defined as 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.

Commercial Web Site Hosting

Our Web Site Hosting Services are designed for those businesses who want to advertise their company and services by establishing a presence on the World Wide Web.

Under a Web Hosting arrangement your Web pages are stored on our computers which are directly connected to the Internet. When an Internet user makes a request to see your pages, our computers transmit the appropriate data to that person's location.

Web Hosting Services include the following:

  • Space on our Web Server to store your Web pages,
  • Monthly traffic allowance (the amount of traffic to and from your Web Site),
  • Support for Interactive Forms (these are programs that elicit and process information obtained from people who access your Web Site... they are commonly referred to as CGI programs),
  • Domain Name registration (registering a domain name provides your organization with a unique name on the WWW such as "www.yourcompany.com"),
  • Usage reports to let you know how many times your Web Site is being accessed,
  • Start-up support from our staff to assist you in getting your Web Site up and running.

*Domain Name Acquisition or Transfer-As part of the Setup Fee, Total Net NH will submit the required application and provide the necessary backup services so that you may acquire an exclusive domain name for your organization, or transfer a domain name that you already possess. (This does not include the cost of the actual domain name registration which is $25 per year--initial registration is for two years.)

Option 1 allows you a commercial Web Site without a domain name. Your Web Site address will look like: http://www.totalnetnh.net/~yourname/. This options gives you support for feedback forms and CGI programs like a guest book, search engines, counters and random text and images. More advanced forms such as searchable databases or a shopping cart programs, are not available under this option.

Option 2 allows you a commercial Web Site with a domain name. Your Web Site address will look like: http://www.yourname.com/. It also includes all of the features in Option #1, plus additional storage space and transfer allowance. More advanced forms such as searchable databases or a shopping cart programs, are available under this option but, you will incur additional charges.

Option 3 is very much like option 2 but, with storage space and transfer allowance.

All options are expandable. If you need more space for your web site or other features, you may pick and choose your options from the table below.

* Uploads from other people count toward your web space limit - this feature can only be purchased in conjunction with the FTP access for downloads.

Domain Name Hosting


If you would like your email address to be yourname@yourcompany.com but, are not ready to establish a Web Site yet, you'll be interested in our Domain Name Hosting option.

Our Domain Name Hosting option operates as follows:

  • You select a Domain Name for your company. (The Domain Name is the part of the email address that comes after the@sign.)
  • We submit the Domain Name registration application to an authorized registrar. Initial registration of the name that you select will be for two years. The charge for registering a domain name is $25 per year.
  • If the Domain Name is granted to your company, we will then maintain it on our servers so that whenever someone directs mail at your Domain Name, it will be received here and maintained until you pick it up via your dialup account.

The cost of this option is $15 per month. There is also a one-time $50 setup fee.


Web Site Design


Web Site design and development can be either very simple or very complicated and, correspondingly, can be either very reasonable in cost or very expensive. The factors that come into play are: the size of the Web Site; the amount of graphics to be included; whether or not custom designed forms for users to fill out and submit are included; and how complicated the structure of each individual page is.

In general, our observations have been that the most effective Web Sites are relatively simple in design, have very few graphics and, unless there are compelling reasons, do not have many pages. Therefore, the average business or professional association can have an effective Web Site put together for a surprisingly reasonable cost.

Keeping the above considerations in mind, here are some estimates of possible costs:

  • $250 for a five page site.
  • $500 for a Medium sized site of up to 10 pages, one simple feedback form, & small variety of graphics.
  • Larger sites with complicated structures, large amounts of graphics, and multiple feedback forms and/or complicated processing scripts are available.

The above estimates are predicated on the average page including the following elements:

  1. Text supplied by you.
  2. Your choice of backgrounds.
  3. Inclusion of suitable graphic image provided by you (such as company logo).
  4. Separator bars.
  5. Up to 5 of your favorite links.
  6. A link for your Email Address.
  7. Scanning service, first 3 images free - additional images 3.50 each.
