Setting up Netscape Communicator (Win / Mac).
These pages are designed as a quick reference if you are experiencing problems with obtaining your e-mail from Total Net NH using Netscape Communicator. This document may provide a solution to your problems if:
- You're not receiving your E-mail,
- You're getting mail returned to you,
- People cannot reply to your messages,
- You receive the same mail over and over.
This document presumes you have already have followed our instructions on our CD-ROM (Step 5). To begin configuring Netscape Communicator to for use with Total Net NH, you will need to open the program. If Netscape Communicator prompts you to connect to the Internet, you can "Cancel" as being online is not a neccessary step.
Our first step is to get into Netscape's "Preferences". To do this, go to the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences".
From the "Preferences" screen, you will want to select "Identity" from the Mail & Groups block. Your screen should look similar. Fill in your real name and your email address, as shown (replacing our examples with the correct information).
Once you've finished that, we'll be selecting the "Mail Server" item from the Mail & Groups block. Your screen will look similar to what he have below... Fill in the correct username and the provided incoming and outgoing mail servers. Verify that POP3 is checked in the bottom portion.
Click on the OK button near the bottom and you'll be finished.
