Is there any way to eliminate those annoying Pop-up ads?
Recently, a new and annoying advertising trend has become widespread on the Internet: Pop-up Ads. "Pop-up Ads" are those windows full of advertising that pop up either in front of or behind your original browser window.
This is very annoying to most people, but is particularly annoying to us at Total Net NH. Since our name appears on all browser windows and, therefore, appears on the browser window containing the advertising, many people think we are responsible for the advertisement in question.
We want to emphatically state that we do not
approve of this advertising and are not responsible for it.

First, there is software for both Mac and Windows that will work with Internet Explorer to help block pop-up ads. To help you find and install these types of software, we have assembled the following links for you.
(Note: we can neither help you install, nor otherwise tech support these programs).

Second and probably the most effective way to stop pop-up ads is to use the Firefox web browser instead of Internet Explorer. Firefox has a pop-up stopper built right into it. These instructions are designed to help you install the Firefox web browser, as well as configure it to stop annoying pop-up advertising windows. Firefox is freely available and shares the same code as the Netscape browser, only without the embedded advertising.
-
Download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox.
-
Once the download is complete, double click on FirefoxSetup.exe.
-
The next window you'll see welcomes you to the Firefox installer. Click Next.
-
Read and Accept the software license agreement and press Next.
-
The installer will default to a "Standard" installation. Click Next.
-
The installer will tell you where Firefox will be installed. Click Next.
-
During the installation you will be given the opportunity to import your bookmarks from the browser you are presently using.
-
You will then be informed that the installation is complete. Click Finish.
-
Once Firefox has finished installing, the browser will automatically be started, and you'll be given a chance to set it as the "default browser" of your machine. Choose Yes.
-
You can open Firefox at any time by double-clicking the new Firefox icon on your desktop.
To enable the pop-up blocker within Firefox, perform the following steps:
-
If Firefox is not already opened, open it via the Firefox desktop icon.
-
Go to the "Tools" drop down menu and select "Options"
-
The "Options" window will appear. From the left menu choose "Web Features".
You should have this window:

-
To completely remove pop-ups, make sure the "block popup windows" is checked.
