How do I upload pages to my Web Site using WS_FTP?

First connect to your site:

THE FIRST screen you see will look like this:

THIS SCREEN is the SESSION PROFILE. If this screen is not blank, click on NEW to start a new session profile.

  • For "Profile Name", type in any name you wish for this connection.
  • For "Host Name" type in "ftp.totalnetnh.net" or, if you have your own domain name, type in "ftp.yourdomain.com".
  • For "User ID" type your user name.
  • For "Password" type your password.
  • For "Directory" leave this blank or type the path for the directory you want to go to.
  • Press SAVE and then Click OK.

    AT THIS point you can locate files on your own hard drive(s) and transfer them to the FTP site by moving around in the LEFT window. Double clicking on the will move you up one folder.. Double clicking on the letters at the end of the list will move you from one drive to another.

    TO UPLOAD FROM THE LEFT HAND WINDOW:

  • Double click (or click the Right Pointing Arrow) the file to begin.
  • Once the file is done uploading, you'll see it displayed in the right hand window.

    You can make a new sub-directory by clicking on and entering the name of the new folder in the pop-up window that appears.

    TO DOWNLOAD FROM THE RIGHT HAND WINDOW:

  • Double click (or click the Left Pointing Arrow) the file to begin.
  • Once the file is done, you'll see it displayed in the left hand window.
