Windows 2000 Connectivity Set-up



1. Click on the Start button, then select Settings. Select Network and Dialup Connections. In this folder, double-click on the Make New Connection icon. The first screen of the Network Connection Wizard should appear on your screen. Click Next to continue.

2. Select Dial-up to the Internet. Click Next.

 


3. On the next screen of the Wizard, select I want to set up my Internet connection manually. Click Next to continue.

 


4. On the next screen, select I connect through a phone line and modem. Click Next.

 

5. The next screen asks for the telephone number that you want to call. Enter the telephone number as 225-0038. Make sure the Use area code and dialing rules option does not have a check mark.

 

6. Click on the Advanced button. On the Connection tab, make sure the PPP (Point to Point Protocol) option in the Connection type section is selected. Make sure the Login procedure is set to None.

 

 

7. Click on the Addresses tab. Under the IP address section, select Internet service provider automatically provides one. Under DNS server address, select Always use the following.

Enter the Primary and secondary DNS numbers.

Primary DNS 192.168.176.22
Secondary DNS 192.168.176.33

 

8. Click OK, and then click Next. You will be prompted for your login information. Enter your user name in the User name box. Enter your password in the Password box. Click Next.

 

9. The next screen asks you for a Connection name. In the box, type Total Net NH, LLC. Click Next.

 

10. The next screen asks you if you would like to create a mail account. Select Yes and click Next to continue.

 

11. You may be prompted to use an existing mail account. If this occurs, select Create a new Internet mail account. Click Next.

Note: if you do not see this screen, skip this step and move to the next step.

 

12. Next, type your name in the Display name box. Click Next.

 

13. The next screen asks for your e-mail address in the E-mail address box. Click Next. Your e-mail address is your username@totalnetnh.net. Enter your e-mail address in the box. Click Next.

 

14. The next screen configures your mail server should be set to POP3. Both the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server and the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server should be mail.totalnetnh.net. Click Next.

 

15. The next screen asks for your logon information. Enter your username in the Account name box. Enter your password in the Password box. Make sure the Remember password option is checked. Click Next.

 

16. The last screen of the wizard informs you that you have successfully completed the necessary steps to set up your Internet connection. You can select the To connect to the Internet immediately option to go directly to the Internet. Click Finish to begin browsing the Web.

 

 

Click on your browser's "BACK" button to return
