This will run you though the verification, and the setup of Dial-Up Networking.
- To start, Double-click on "My Computer" on your desktop.
- Double-click on "Dial-Up Networking" in the new window.
- Two things may happen now. You should get a list of at least two icons, one labeled: Make New Connection and another labeled: Total Net NH. If you have both these icons in front of you, then click HERE to continue. Else, if you do not have an icon labeled: "Total Net NH", or a screen comes up asking you to type in a name, then you will need to setup a new icon.
- If you are at the Screen asking for: "A name of the computer you are dialing", then you are a step ahead, go to step 3. Else, Double click on: "Make New Connection"
- For the name of the connection type: Total Net NH. The Modem should be fine... Only change if you know what you are doing! Then click Next
- For the Area Code, type: "603". And then enter: "225-0038" for the Telephone Number. Now click next.
- It will tell you that you completed the setup... Just click finish!
- Now, that the connection is added. You will need to follow the steps below to configure it.
- To look at the settings of the connection, RIGHT-click on Total Net NH (That means use your RIGHT mouse button and click on the icon).
- When the new menu comes up, click on "Properties" (You can use your left mouse button to do so)
- You should now get a new window. You want to click on "Server Types". Once it is up compare the settings below with what you have and change them if necessary.
- Now click on the "TCP/IP Settings..." Button! (NOT The Check Mark Box).
- Now, compare your settings with the ones below. If your "Primary DNS, Secondary DNS, Primary WINS, and Secondary WINS boxes are "grayed out", click on: "Specify Name Server Addresses".
- Keep clicking "OK" until you get back to the Dial-Up Networking Window. Try connecting now and see if it works!
