1.To see what protocols you have installed, go to your control panels by clicking on your "Start Menu", then "Settings" and then click on "Control Panel" (As shown here:)
2. When the control panel comes up, hit the letter "N" on your keyboard until the icon labeled "Network" is highlighted. Double click on "Network"
3.You should have now have a list in front of you with 2 or more items. Items that MUST be in this list are: "Dial-up Adapter" and "TCP/IP". Those are the ONLY ones that you need to connect to the Internet, so those are the only ones that will be covered in this help section.
Also, please note that if you have a network, or something to that effect, you may have more then one TCP/IP or other protocol. If that is the case, keep in mind that we are ONLY refering to the ones that end in: "-> Dial-up Adapter", example: TCP/IP -> Dial-up Adapter.

If you are missing "TCP/IP" or, if you have a network: "TCP/IP -> Dial-up Adapter", click HERE

If you are missing the Dial-Up Adapter from "Network", do the following:
- Go into the network control panel if you are not there already (Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, and then double-click on "Network").
- Click on the "Add" Button.
- When the new window comes up, double-click on "Adapter".
Now Find "Microsoft" in the left-hand list and click on it. On your right side, double-click on "Dial-Up Adapter"

- It should now be added to the list.
If you are missing "TCP/IP" or, if you have a network, "TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adapter", do the following:
- Go into the network control panel if you are not there already (Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel, and then double-click on "Network").
- Click on the "Add" Button.
- When the new window comes up, double-click on "Protocol".
- Now click on "Microsoft" on the left hand side, and then double-click on "TCP/IP" on the right-hand side.
- That should install it on the list. You will now want to configure the new protocol by clicking on it to select it, and then clicking: "Properties". To see what setting should go where, click HERE!
